Psychological care, learning and wellbeing
Wellbeing starts with understanding.
We take time to understand people, their experiences, relationships and what matters to them. Explore psychological care, opportunities to understand yourself, and resources to support your wellbeing.

Beginning therapy
Start with a conversation, not a commitment.
- 01Talk firstA free 15 minute call to ask questions and see whether Abantu may be a suitable service.
- 02Understand what you needIf you continue, an assessment gives you and your psychologist time to discuss what has been happening.
- 03Agree the work togetherYou agree the focus, format and pace before therapy begins, with time to review it as you go.
Why Abantu?
Abantu is the Zulu word for “people”. The name reflects our belief that no one exists in isolation. Our lives are shaped by relationships, communities, culture and the experiences we carry.
Therapy at Abantu begins with careful listening. We work with the whole of your story and use evidence-based approaches to help you understand patterns, cope with distress and make changes that matter to you.
We also help organisations respond well to race, identity, culture and wellbeing.
