Dr Noreen Dera

Founder and Clinical Director, Chartered Clinical Psychologist

Hello, I'm Noreen

I started Abantu so people could bring their whole story into therapy, including the parts other services have sometimes missed.

What working with me is like

  • We go at a pace that feels manageable for you.
  • We make room for family, culture and faith if they matter to you.
  • We use approaches with good evidence behind them, and I explain why.

I often work with people who...

  • are living with the effects of racism or discrimination
  • feel caught between different expectations
  • are hard on themselves and want to be kinder
  • have never told their story in full before
"You shouldn't have to leave parts of yourself at the door."
