While you're waiting for support

Waiting can feel hard. These are a few gentle ideas. Take what helps and leave the rest.

Draft: awaiting clinical review by Dr Noreen Dera.

  • Keep a manageable routine

Small, regular anchors such as getting up at a similar time or a short walk can make days feel steadier.

  • Stay connected

Let someone you trust know how you are, even briefly. You do not have to explain everything.

  • Write down what you want to say

Jot down concerns or questions as they come up, so you can bring them to your appointment.

  • Look after everyday needs

Food, rest and some gentle movement all affect how we feel. Aim for good enough, not perfect.

  • Try simple grounding

If it helps, notice five things you can see or feel your feet on the floor. Stop if it does not feel right.

  • Ask for more help if things get harder

Your GP, NHS 111 and the services on our urgent support page are there if you need them sooner.
